Living with a Mexican family is, for most students, a valuable experience and, for the school, it is an important part of the language program. Experiencia has carefully selected the families and are responsible for seeing that each student will be welcomed as another family member. Your family will also help you with homework and with the improvement of your conversational fluency.Also available are dorm rooms at the school, although we request early registration to guarantee availability, especially in the summer. Breakfast is the only meal provided for this type of accommodation.PLEASE NOTE: ALL Mexican homestays are arranged directly by the school. Should you prefer a private accommodation, Experiencia can assist you finding a hotel room or an apartment.

Our Spanish Courses in Cuernavaca, Mexico

You can choose any length of study and we will incorporate the appropriate program

A basic language course, from 1 to 16 weeks. With one week modules, we are able to begin new classes each Monday, 52 weeks a year.

For advanced students we also have classes including language, history and culture, with appropriate vocabulary.

in a small group or we will arrange a combination of these at your request.

Students may register for any number of weeks.

A special program can be offered to those with a specific learning objective, e.g. for business executives, teachers and educators, psychochologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, mental health workers, flight attendants, medical staff or technicians, doctors, or nurses, healthcare professionals, etc. An extra fee may be required.

We can arrange volunteer internship experiences working in a hospital, family clinic or children's clinic.  There is no charge to arrange a internship placement.

We will arrange group studies for your group and offer incentives to those bringing a group with them.

Our Spanish Courses

  • Open to everyone, all ages and all levels of Spanish from complete beginners to native speakers wanting to fine tune some aspect of grammar or a special application. Inquire about our classes for children.

    Classes are available for teens and children. There are more teens and children during school breaks and especially in the summer. Teaching methods used with children integrate the fact that they have shorter attention spans and need to learn in a variety of modalities such as using games, arts and crafts and outings into the community.

  • All levels of instruction begin  EVERY Monday throughout the year
  • Your skill level will be determined in a personal interview
  • Each course is attended by no more than five students
  • You will have a different teacher each week
  • You will receive homework on the average of ½ to 1 hour daily
  • A change of groups is possible, according to your progress
  • A certificate will be awarded at the end of every course

Course Content, Teaching Methods & Materials

  • Spanish is spoken exclusively in the classes (a knowledge of English is not necessary)
  • Each course will progress through 15 different levels
  • First levels include grammar, verbal communication, reading and writing
  • Advanced levels help to consolidate acquired skills and expand vocabulary
  • Illustrated teaching materials are used as often as possible
  • Grammar exercises use various written materials as well as group discussions
  • Dictation is given to improve writing skills
  • Essays are assigned as homework
  • The school's own grammar book will be the basis for all programs
  • Specific exercise books will be utilized for each course
  • Teaching materials are up to date and written by the school staff, allowing the teacher to adapt the teaching-learning process to the needs and knowledge of the student
  • One book for each 4 week course required. US$10

[The traditional Mexican market in Cuernavaca is worth at least a couple of visits during your studies. Often students choose to go off campus with their teachers during the conversation period in the afternoon.]

Bilingual Exchange Program with Mexican Students

Experiencia is also a school that offers foreign language classes for Mexican students. The establishment of  "intercambios" many years ago, has made the school well known in Cuernavaca because apart from practicing languages, it actively contributes to a better intercultural understanding and friendship between foreign and Mexican students. All students may participate in the bilingual exchange.

Various topics of interest are discussed in small groups or the students simply decide what to talk about, one hour in Spanish and another in English, German, Italian or French.

Film and Video Evening

Documentary and feature films about history, culture, politics and life in Mexico, as well as Latin America and other continents. All students may participate.

  • Las Estacas River:Underground river surfaces here. Crystal clear water for swimming and enjoying "un día en el campo".
