EXPERIENCIA CUERNAVACA
CAMPUS
Why choose AVENTURAS and
EXPERIENCIA?
EXPERIENCE does matter! Many newer schools downplay
the value of experience. Most instructors at EXPERIENCIA have have 10, 15
and in many cases...over 20 years of immersion language teaching experience.
They are very comfortable with what they are doing and they are invested
in your learning. They also attend regular training updates regarding immersion
methods. You won't find any school in Cuernavaca that offers as many free
included activities as we do (evening Learning Integration Activities and
Cultural Program, Saturday excursions). Compare us with the other schools
for tuition prices, included activities, flexibility, experience and value.
We will help you design and individualize a program that is right for
you.
AVENTURAS: Many representatives have little or no
immersion language experience at EXPERIENCIA. As the school really doesn't
have an internet presence, various representatives help connect students
with the school via the web. All sites for the school charge the same fees
as the school itself. As AUTHORIZED GLOBAL REPRESENTATIVES of the school,
AVENTURAS staff have studied there for more than 19 weeks since 1981. We
know the teachers and work directly with Owner-Director, Arturo Ballinas.
We work as professional Immersion Language Program Consultants with contracts
with Spanish Immersion Schools in Latin America and Universities and English
Immersion programs in the United States. We provide consultation based upon
our study experience and our having spent more than a year in México
during the past 20+ years. We provide rapid, reliable responses and help
students to individualize their study and accommodations programs. We also
provide additional information regarding travel, immersion study and other
related information. We are available by phone daily (Toll-Free in the US/Canada:
1 866-4Spanish or 477-2647), by email and by Yahoo Messenger. We are also
bilingual in Spanish and can take your questions in Spanish if you want to
get in the mood! For those that live in the Monterey Bay Area or San Francisco
Bay Area, we have an informational video for viewing as well as other
photos.

ARRIVAL
Do I fly into Mexico City to reach
Cuernavaca?
Yes, you fly into the Mexico City airport (Juarez
International Airport) when travelling to Mexico to reach Cuernavaca. Cuernavaca
is in the Mexican state of Morelos, just 1 1/2 hours south of Mexico City
and three hours north of Acapulco by luxury bus. We have flown into Acapulco
and enjoyed a couple of days there before traveling to Cuernavaca because
of the airline ticket prices at the time, although we usually fly into Mexico
City.
Is it easy and safe to travel to Cuernavaca
from the airport in Mexico City?
Yes, you can arrange to have the school pick you up
at the airport for an extra charge ($80 for one person, less for 2 or more).
You can also take the Cuernavaca-direct Pullman de Morelos Executive Bus
Service just outside of the main concourse of the airport near Gate D, Door
8 which will cost approximately $9US. Once you have arrived in Cuernavaca,
it is an easy taxi ride ($3US) to EXPERIENCIA or your homestay
family.
CLASSES
When can I begin classes?
Classes begin Monday each week, 52 weeks a year.
Yes, we are even open during the holiday season! At times, we are able to
accommodate mid-week start dates.
I have never studied Spanish before. Do you
have classes for me?
Yes, we teach people who have never studied any Spanish.
I grew up learning Spanish and am an advanced
studentt. Do you have a class for me?
We also have classes for advanced students who may
have learned Spanish as a child or have had several years of classes. Many
Latino families come to improve their grammar or to help their
children learn the language and experience the culture.
Do you have Spanish immersion courses for children
and teens?
During the summer we have many families in attendance.
We accommodate teens and children in classes. The children's classes are
taught by teachers specializing in educating children and vary the activities
and adjust the time frame of activities to that which works best with
children.
How far in advance should I
register?
Early registration is encouraged as it allows AVENTURAS
more time to arrange specialized classes, homestay requests and other
accommodations options.
Are you able to facilitate stays at the last
minute?
Yes! We had a student call last summer on a Thursday
that had already purchased an airline ticket to Mexico City and wanted to
begin studies the next Monday. Within an hour his studies and family homestay
were arranged.
What teaching methods are
used?
We teach using structured methods of language
acquisition, then place the student in different settings to help the student
learn in a natural way. This helps integrate the language. Some schools stress
that they do not teach grammar and thus it is more fun and quicker. Don't
be fooled! A mix of both structured and natural settings is most effective...and
you will find both environments enjoyable, challenging and
supportive.
What are the tuition costs?
Basic tuition for Group Classes ranges from $150
to $190 per week depending upon the length of studies (25 hours per week
plus evening 10 hours evening Learning Integration Activities).
Individual or Private Classes range from $3000 to
$380 depending upon the length of studies per week with the same included
hours and activities. Additional private class hours are available for either
program.
What is the lifetime registration fee
for?
The school charges a one time registration fee to
cover costs of processing of your application, arranging for your classes
and setting up your accommodations request. Our fees are the same whether
you register in Cuernavaca or through our representatives. When you return
in the future do, as many students, you will never pay this fee again. This
payment includes both the Cuernavaca Campus and the Tepoztlan
Campus.
AVAILABILITY OF CLASSES, HOMESTAYS AND OTHER
ACCOMMODATIONS
How can I find out about class and homestay
availability?
Please contact us by email
(Office@LanguageAmigos.com)
or telephone (Toll-Free US/Canada 1-866 4Spanish) for information regarding
availability. In most cases, we are able to arrange a class for you even
with very little lead time. It is important to register well in advance for
more availability and flexibility of options regarding Homestays with a Mexican
Family, dormitory stays or other accommodations options.
WHY CUERNAVACA?
Cuernavaca has an ideal climate. Known as "The City
of Eternal Spring" for it's year-around spring-like climate. Daily daytime
temperatures average in the 70s. You won't find this area hot and humid
like the coastal and lower elevation areas during the hotter months of the
year. Cuernavaca is close to Mexico City, yet out of the smog and congestion
there. It is also close to many other desirable tourist travel destinations
such as Taxco, Puebla, and Acapulco. Cuernavaca is known worldwide as one
of the most popular Spanish immersion study centers. Local universities support
the Spanish immersion schools in the area by providing updated training and
certificate programs in immersion Spanish methods available to the instructors.
The town itself offers many cultural events and locales, including arts and
entertainment events, museums, galleries, gardens, even an ex-hacienda and
a pyramid site.
